Carmen Pineyro announces bid for 18th Assembly District

Freeport, NY (May 25, 2016)- Village Trustee Carmen J. Pineyro (D-Freeport) announced today that she will be running as a Democrat for the 18th Assembly District seat which encompasses the villages of Freeport and Hempstead as well as the hamlets of Uniondale, Roosevelt and parts of Baldwin, West Hempstead and East Meadow. 

“I will take my work ethic and progressive record to Albany. Our schools and our communities are in dire need of more resources. I committ to secure more funding to help local organizations to offer new and innovative programs to keep our children safe and off the streets,” said Pineyro who’s a former Deputy Mayor of the second largest village in the state of New York. “It’s been almost 30 years of the same representation. Taxpayers are tired and hurting and our communities are clamoring for new leadership with fresh ideas.”

Freeport, NY (25 de mayo del 2016)- La Concejal de la Alcaldía de Freeport Carmen J. Piñeyro (D-Freeport) anunció hoy que buscará la nominación demócrata del distrito 18 de la Asamblea Estatal el cual incluye las villas de Freeport y Hempstead así como los poblados de Uniondale, Roosevelt y sectores de Baldwin, West Hempstead y East Meadow. 

“Llevaré mi ética de trabajo y record progresista a Albany. Nuestras escuelas y nuestras comunidades están desesperadamente necesitadas de más recursos. Yo me comprometo a conseguir más fondos para ayudar a organizaciones locales para ofrecer programas nuevos e innovadores para mantener a nuestros hijos seguros y alejados de las calles,” dijo Piñeyro quien también ha fungido como Vicealcaldesa de la segunda villa más grande del estado de Nueva York. “Han sido ya casi 30 años de la misma representación. Los que pagamos impuestos estamos cansados y golpeados y nuestras comunidades claman por un nuevo liderazgo con ideas frescas.”
